Our research-based services are designed to provide a safe, welcoming, supportive environment that empowers women in their journey toward sustained recovery from addiction and trauma. Located in beautiful Marin County, California, on the shores of Corte Madera Creek, MSW offers a full continuum of care that includes the following programs: RESIDENTIAL Residential Recovery Program A comprehensive, individualized residential recovery program that includes individual and group counseling, alcohol and other drug education, life-skills and referrals to outside vocational training, 12-step meetings, case management, art therapy, pilates and yoga, relapse prevention, re-entry support and family programs. A limited number of clients can bring a child age five and under to reside with them in the Residential Recovery Program. OUTPATIENT Day or Evening Treatment Program A three phase program with individualized, comprehensive and intensive services depending on needs. Day treatment clients live at home or in MSW’s Independent/Transitional Living housing. Treatment includes group counseling, alcohol and drug education, life-skills training and an introduction to the 12-Step process. SPECIAL PROGRAMS Trauma Recovery Component Women attend special psycho-educational groups that address both recovery and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or anxiety and depression. Women look at these issues in terms of their safety and stabilization and learn coping skills that help them deal with their experiences with health behaviors. Perinatal Recovery Program A comprehensive, individualized residential recovery program for pregnant and parenting women that allows children age five and under to accompany their mothers into residential treatment. Specific pregnancy and parenting-related services are provided, including coordinated prenatal care, childcare, parent support and education, assessment and referrals for children Female Veteran Program Assists female veterans who are exiting military service with substance abuse and trauma issues that create obstacles to their ability to join the civilian workforce. Transitional/Independent Living Program Affordable clean and sober housing for women who have graduated from a primary recovery program and are enrolled in an MSW Outpatient program. Continued contact with MSW staff, clients and alumnae helps ensure a successful transition to sober living. Mothers may bring up to two children under the age of 10 with them. Continuing Care Unlimited weekly counseling groups for clients who have completed a primary recovery program.
